Victor Halvani is a world renowned artist, teacher and exceptional sculptor.
Growing up in Egypt to a Jewish family, Victor creates art revolving his unique childhood influences and explores the worlds of ancient Egypt, biblical traditions and the rich folklore of those periods. Using bronze as his main material, Victor’s sculptures are dynamic pieces that are both simplistic and interactive. His sculptures engage with the spectator with their unique lines, giving the sensation of continuity and motion towards the sky.
Drawing inspiration from Egyptian art and characters, Victor integrates biblical stories along with Egyptian influence to portray human dynamics for its array of colors and emotions. Telling vivid stories about relationships, family and the magical dance between people.
Displaying music as a dominant theme of his work, many sculptures present biblical instruments and characters with their deep connection to music and the music rituals of the time.
Victor’s art is universal, removed from judgment or religious influence, open to all to appreciate and enjoy. The sculptures have the unique features of having lines instead of facial attributes, making the work less about the specific and more about the story and humans in it. The sculpture’s lines give the sensation of motion and often inspire the spectator and imbue him with emotions related to movement, joy and hope.
Victor’s work is displayed worldwide and can be found in public squares, university gardens and a variety of cultural venues. For the visitors of Israel, we invite you to Ein Hod Artist’s Village, where you can find the magnificent work of Victor in his sculpture gallery and schedule an appointment for a personal visit. His work is presented throughout the place, where you can find Victor’s sculpture “David playing the harp” placed in the Yemini Garden of Ein Hod. Victor’s art can also be found online and is exhibited at Victor Halvani Sculpture Park at the entrance of the city of Safed.
